As a finalist, I was able to attend and present at the 2013 SSEP Conference, which was held in Washington, DC on July 2-3, 2013 at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Two other PSA students from the other finalist teams presented as well. PSA had the most presentations from one school at the conference, having accepted the offer of the NCESSE to have all finalist teams present in addition to the team selected for spaceflight.

I was really nervous because I had to present alone since Joe was on vacation with his family. After I had finished the presentation, I was encouraged by Dr. Jeff Goldstein, the Director of the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education (NCESSE) to work on my proposal and submit it again. He said that revision was part of the process of true science and that I should try again. I did, and we won for Mission 6. I'm glad that I listened to his advice.
