Today the SpaceX 8 successfully launched from Cape Canaveral, FL, at 4:43 pm EST. On board were not only important provisions for our astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS), but several student experiments from the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP), ours among them. Third times a charm?
Of course we're excited that our work came to fruition, but more importantly we're thankful for the organizations and persons that made all of this possible.

The Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) has done incredible work to encourage and facilitate the groundbreaking work on the International Space Station (ISS), not only for career scientists but for students of all ages. Their vision and dedication to inspiring the next generation of space pioneers is absolutely incredible. Thank you, CASIS!
NanoRacks LLC and their educational branch DreamUp have been so generous in their support of SSEP throughout the existence of the program. We owe them so much, and their efforts to encourage student scientists are inspiring!
I can say that the efforts of these two organizations have changed my life in a huge way. I'm so grateful for everything they do for students everywhere, and I know Joe and Gabe feel similarly.
Of course, we are also thankful for Dr. Goldstein, Mr. Hamel, and Mrs. Hamel. What they do for kids everyday is so important, and I know they've touched the lives of hundreds of students.
